About the role
We are seeking a Sales Solution Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for a sales professional who thrives in a high-volume, phone-driven, referral-based environment, enjoys closing deals, and is confident persuading business owners through a streamlined sales process.
Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities with existing clients to expand our clientele and build our business.
- Prepare the client proposals using pricing within set guidelines.
- Commit to departmental and individual quotas/goals.
- Manage and close inbound and internal payroll referrals using a consultative, sales-first approach.
- Conduct discovery conversations with business owners and decision-makers to assess payroll and HR needs.
- Present and close payroll solutions using instant quoting and simplified pricing models.
- Own the sales process from initial contact through closing and handoff.
- Maintain a consistent pipeline and meet volume-based production goals.
- Engage in frequent daily client conversations in a fast-paced sales environment.
- Identify opportunities to introduce additional Newtek solutions, including banking, lending, insurance, payments, and benefits.
- Collaborate closely with internal relationship managers and partners to support overall client growth.
Requirements
- High School or equivalent experience and a minimum of 6 months of related B2B preferably in payroll.
- Comfortable with being on video camera while engaging with clients/customers, attending company/department meetings, etc. as required.
- Experience in business development/lead generation, business consulting, sales and marketing preferred.
- Excellent professional oral, written and presentation skills.
- Bilingual a plus or may be required based on company needs.
- Prior experience in payroll sales, HCM sales, or related B2B SaaS sales.
- Strong persuasion and closing skills, particularly in fast-moving sales cycles.
- Comfortable managing a high volume of small to mid-sized business opportunities.
- Clear explanation of pricing and value to business owners.
- Organized, accountable, and able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.

- College degree preferred but not required; relevant sales experience is more important.

Pay
This is a base salary role (payroll sales are not commission-based). Performance bonuses tied to production and volume. Commission opportunities available through cross-sold products such as banking, lending, insurance, and other Newtek solutions.
Schedule
This is a phone-driven, high-volume sales role with a strong focus on daily client conversations. You will work primarily warm, inbound, and internal referrals (no cold prospecting required). Monday–Friday schedule. Availability required between 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. local time to support client needs. Typical schedules align to standard business hours based on time zone (e.g., 8:00–5:00 CT, 9:00–6:00 ET, 7:00–4:00 PT).
