Sales Estimator

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare pricing estimates and takeoffs of all material and labor required for the project.
• Work with suppliers to get up-to-date material pricing.
• Cook with operations and outside vendors on how the job is to be built in both our shop and in the field.
• Work with end client to ensure all needs and delivery dates are being met.

Physical Requirements

• Work will be performed in an indoor office environment and working from home.
• Position requires long durations committed to independent reading and computation.
• Strong concentration skills necessary.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Required Skills

• 2-4 years’ experience in the structural steel estimating field.
• Basic understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection practices including knowledge of structural shapes, installation and erection methods, and general industry knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents including design drawings and specification documents.
• Microsoft software applications including MS Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Drive. Emphasis on Excel.
• Experience with PDF review/editing software (Bluebeam, Acrobat), STREAK
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents
• Strong math and geometry skills
• Able to Multi-task
• Must be detail-oriented and can focus on given tasks
