Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers while actively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through direct outreach, customer visits, and consultative selling.
- Prepare and deliver accurate quotations, manage sales opportunities, and ensure timely follow-up on leads and customer inquiries.
- Maintain CRM records, including customer interactions, opportunity tracking, forecasts, and quote activity.
- Present product capabilities, technical advantages, and value propositions to customers, highlighting differentiators and competitive strengths.
- Conduct product demonstrations at company facilities, customer sites, trade shows, and industry events.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between customers and internal teams, ensuring clear communication of technical requirements, project objectives, and expectations.
- Evaluate customer applications, assess technical feasibility, and recommend appropriate solutions to meet operational and performance requirements.
- Prioritize customer opportunities and allocate technical and sales resources based on strategic value and business potential.
- Develop long-term customer relationships and support sales growth through ongoing account management and business development efforts.
- Cook up with project managers, engineering, and operations teams to ensure customer orders are executed on schedule and in accordance with project requirements.
- Support system implementation, application setup, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical issues in collaboration with engineering and service teams.
- Prepare and submit activity reports, expense reports, sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and other business documentation as required.
- Participate in relevant industry associations, networking events, conferences, and technical forums to strengthen market presence and industry knowledge.
- Plan, organize, and deliver technical presentations, training sessions, and educational seminars for customers and industry groups.
- Assist with trade show planning, booth setup, staffing, demonstrations, and post-event follow-up activities.
- Participate in sales strategy meetings, business planning sessions, and cross-functional initiatives to support organizational growth objectives.
Requirements and Desired Experience
- College-level course work in an engineering discipline and/or plastics technology is preferred but not required.
- Training and/or education in business or marketing a plus.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and practices is strongly preferred.
- 2+ years of field sales experience required, preferably in a high-tech industry.
- Previous experience with plastics technology, vibration welding, and/or ultrasonics is strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Strong presentation skills a must.
- Willing and able to work independently and to travel within assigned territory.
- A previous background in customer service or customer relations is a plus.
- Must reside in Ohio, Western Pennsylvania or West Virginia area.
