Rural Medicine Education Outreach Coordinator, Part-Time, UMKC School of Medicine - St. Joseph, MO

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, facilitate, and participate in informational events for rural high school and community outreach programs.
• Reach out to rural high schools, plan events, coordinate with faculty, staff, and students, and travel to rural communities.
• Drive vehicles, organize small group activities, document events (pictures, tracking numbers), and order supplies.
• Support the Rural Pathway Program by assisting with student recruitment, logistics, data collection, setting up workshops, and small group activities.
• Support the Post-Baccalaureate Rural Medical Emphasis Master’s Degree Program by assisting with program logistics and data collection.
• Aid in progress reports to external funding organizations as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum qualifications: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred qualifications: Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy/physiology.
• Physical requirements: Regular heavy physical lifting, extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing; ability to operate audiovisual equipment and learn new technologies; strong interpersonal communication skills; proficiency with electronic mail and Microsoft Office.
• Other requirements: Valid driver’s license and ability to drive.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Skills: Ability to work in teams, coordinate and organize events, operate audiovisual equipment, communicate effectively, and manage multiple tasks.

Pay and Schedule

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $19.25 - $25.00 per hour. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including education, skills, and experience.
