Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of complex administrative, logistical, operational, and technical tasks related to community engagement and outreach by the PMDCHelp create, design, coordinate, conduct, and evaluate educational and wellness outreach programs for the PMDCProvide logistical support for community engagement programs, retreats, and educational events such as patient symposia and CME offeringsFacilitate the creation and maintenance of community partnerships that aim to foster and promote teaching, research and service activities and programs that are relevant to the PMDC clinical and education mission.Help design marketing materials and promotions for email and social media platforms as well as order and maintain necessary program supplies for PMDC education and outreach programsManage volunteer and participant attendance records for community engagement events and coordinate schedules for department staff and program volunteersTrack program evaluations and incorporate feedback for improvementsProvide direct support to PMDC faculty and staff in the creation, development and conducting of community-based education and outreach events as neededAssist with budgeting and financial aspects associated with PMDC outreach, educational and wellness programs and eventsAssist the PMDC Research Program Manager with outreach events associated with the research mission of the PMDCWork under general supervision, resolving most standard issues independently and referring complex issues to the PMDC directorServe as liaison to the VCU Office of Development and Alumni RelationsServe as resources for others, participating in mentoring, coaching, and trainingPerform other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the PMDC and VCU Department of Neurology

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED and 1–3 years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
  • Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of administrative, logistical, operational, and technical tasks related to the community engagement field
  • Ability to complete more complex assignments and align programs with policies and regulations
  • Ability to identify issues and/or areas that should be addressed differently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication in daily interactions
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Salary Range

$57,700 - $63,700

Hours per Week

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
