Room Service Ambassador

Position Summary

The Room Service Ambassador follows established policies and procedures for verification of diet order accuracy in the room service ordering system, processes patient meal orders within therapeutic diet guidelines, communicates with tray line, dietitian, nursing and patients on patient food service related issues. Provides a high quality dining experience to patients which meets their nutritional requirements and service expectation regarding temperature, timeline and food quality.

Pay

Expected pay for this position is $17.00 - $18.89/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an hourly position.

Required Qualifications

• Education: NA
• Food Handlers Certification required within 6 months of hire
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software

Preferred Qualifications

• Bi-lingual
• Experience using a multi-line phone system

Additional Requirements

• Ability to read and check documents for accuracy on a daily basis
• Analytical skills necessary in order to modify/substitute or prepare patient meal trays when necessary according to dietary restrictions
• Excellent mathematical skills required to accurately document percentage of oral intake and calculate patient nutrients as orders are taken to ensure therapeutic compliance
