About the role
The Supervisor, RN Shift is responsible for the supervision of the Skilled Nursing facility for his/her particular shift. They are also responsible for all administrative and professional working policies pertaining to this section; and for supervising and delegating responsibilities to ensure that clinical duties and unit activities are completed to provide quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and delegate responsibilities to ensure quality patient care
- Provide care appropriate to the age of the residents served on the unit
- Achieve resident requirements based on age-specific needs
- Assess and interpret data reflective of the resident's status
- Exercise full supervision over all disciplines in the absence of Administration
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Nursing Program preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years work experience as a Registered Nurse in a long-term care setting required with one (1) year in a supervisory capacity
- Clearances required: PA State Police criminal history check and PA Department of Aging FBI fingerprint clearance (if applicable)
- Possession of a current license as a Registered Nurse issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners required
- Demonstrated administrative ability, supervisory capabilities and reliability
- Good Management Skills Required
- CPR Certification required or must be obtained and must be maintained
- Maintain the standards of nursing care and implement the policies and procedures of the Nursing Department and Allied Services
- Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective interaction with staff, residents and visitors
- Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations
