About the role

The Intensive Care Unit at WK Pierremont Nursing Service consists of 20 beds and is located on Tower 5. It is a Joint Commission-approved Primary Stroke Center that serves patients with various conditions such as cardiovascular, respiratory, surgical, orthopedic, neurologic, and medical disorders requiring continuous extraordinary care. The unit's staff provides advanced care including ventilatory management, hemodynamic drips, EVD management, and other invasive monitoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care for critically ill patients requiring high-level interventions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary health care teams to develop and implement a coordinated plan of care.
• Assess and manage patients' needs continuously, ensuring appropriate care and treatment.
• Participate in ongoing education and training programs to enhance critical care skills.

Requirements

• Current RN license in Louisiana.
• Experience in critical care nursing preferred but not required.
• Ability to obtain ACLS certification within the first year of employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Passing scores on the NCLEX-RN exam.
