About the Role

The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham is a 14-bed critical care unit that provides care for post-surgical, neurosurgical, neurological, and general critical patients. This dynamic environment is ideal for skill development and delivering patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care following established policies and protocols.
• Implement, monitor, and communicate patient care plans.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care and follow physician and nursing orders.
• Assess discharge needs and collaborate with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification within 1 month of hire.
• Advanced Life Support certification within 6 months of hire.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credential from the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program.
