RN - Pediatric Unit
About the role

The M33 Pediatric Unit, part of Cleveland Clinic Children’s on Main Campus, is an 18‑bed inpatient unit caring for pediatric patients of all ages with a broad range of acute and chronic medical and surgical needs. The unit offers a collaborative, supportive environment focused on delivering high‑quality, family‑centered care.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care.
- Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
- Educate patients and their families.
Minimum qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program).
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- One year of current acute‑care RN experience (military RN experience will be considered).
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical requirements
Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Must stand and walk for extended periods, have corrected vision and hearing to normal range, and work under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids is expected. Medium work – exerting 20–50 lb of force occasionally, 10–25 lb frequently, and up to 10 lb constantly. Physical demand exceeds that of Light Work. Personal protective equipment is used per standard precautions.
Schedule
Day/night rotation of 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, every other weekend and holiday.
Pay
Minimum hourly: $35.50 Maximum hourly: $55.60. The displayed range reflects the anticipated range for new hires; actual compensation will consider work history, experience, skill set, and education. The range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (healthcare, dental, vision, retirement savings contributions, etc.).
