About the role
We’re seeking full-time experienced Registered Nurses to join our Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. This 38-bed telemetry-monitored unit provides care for a wide variety of patients, including a 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and an award-winning Comprehensive Stroke Center certified through the Joint Commission.
The Neuro PCU specializes in conditions such as:
- Hemicraniectomy
- Aneurysm clip and coils
- Glioblastomas
- Carotid endarterectomy
- TIA, stroke (hemorrhagic and ischemic)
- Neurosurgery
- Seizures
- Brain mass
This role operates under a team nursing model, emphasizing collaboration to deliver safe, quality, and compassionate patient care. The schedule is full-time (36 hours/week) on the night shift (7pm–7am).
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in a telemetry-monitored Neuro PCU.
- Collaborate within a team nursing model to ensure safe, compassionate, and patient-centered outcomes.
- Practice in a dynamic environment with diverse patient conditions, including stroke, neurosurgery, and epilepsy.
- Engage in shared governance, unit-based councils, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements
- Graduate of an RN School of Nursing (ADN required; BSN preferred).
- Current Texas RN license or eligibility for licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required at hire or within 30 days of starting).
- Preferred: 12–18 months of RN experience in an acute care or hospital setting.
- Ability to function competently under pressure and in emergency situations.
