About the Role

Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas, is seeking a Nurse Manager to join the 6 North Medical Telemetry team. The unit is a 38-bed unit focused on providing a high level of direct and individualized care, offering ample learning opportunities with a full spectrum of medical diagnoses and comorbidities.

Patient Population

• Sepsis
• Pulmonary conditions or respiratory distress
• Chest pain
• Infection patients requiring isolation, including negative airflow rooms
• Patients requiring skin and wound care including wound vacs
• Patients requiring scopes, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, central line placement, paracentesis, angio-cath, pacemaker insertions, and chest tubes
• Enteral feeding tube insertion and maintenance
• Patients requiring cardiac monitoring
• GI abnormalities
• Trach care
• Genitourinary abnormalities

• Formulate and communicate a clear vision for nursing practices within your area of responsibility
• Involve supervisory and other staff in setting and accomplishing departmental goals
• Continually update your knowledge base with the latest evidence-backed clinical and leadership practices
• Foster a healing and supportive environment for patients, families, and fellow staff members
• Recognize development needs and facilitate educational opportunities for staff members
• Set a positive example of professionalism within the nursing field and work atmosphere
• Incorporate the organization's mission and goals into strategies for staff and patient care

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of three years' professional experience
• RN licensed
• Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days on the job
