RN/GN - Cardiac Intermediate

About the role

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care, ensuring professional accountability and evaluating care effectiveness. Coordinates patient care with other departments, maintains patient rights and confidentiality, and aligns duties with organizational standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-acuity care to critically ill post-operative cardiothoracic, vascular, and medical overflow patients in a fully monitored 28-bed unit.
• Manage therapies such as chest tubes, lytic therapy, vasopressors, BiPAP, insulin drips, and sedation.
• Collaborate with Neuro Trauma PCU and ICUs for cross-training opportunities.
• Support team mentoring and participate in career development programs, including pathways into ICU units.

Requirements

• Graduate from a school of nursing (Associate's, Diploma, or BSN).
• Current RN license in the state or with compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, stand, walk, and perform various physical tasks.
