Provides patient care using the nursing process in a high-acuity, 28-bed intermediate ICU focused on post-operative cardiothoracic, vascular, and medical overflow patients.
Unit details
The 4D Cardiac Surg Intermediate unit offers opportunities for cross-training with Neuro Trauma PCU and ICUs, and supports career advancement into ICU roles with an 18-month program.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates care effectiveness
- Coordinates patient care with other departments
- Maintains patient rights and confidentiality
- Performs duties aligned with organizational standards and values
Qualifications
- Nursing degree (Associates, Diploma, or BSN)
- Active RN license
- Maintain required certifications such as BLS
- Additional certifications may be necessary based on unit requirements
Skills & physical requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Stand and walk extensively
- Perform physical tasks like bending, reaching, and kneeling
