RN - Critical Care - Nights

About the role

Develop, evaluate, and revise individualized care plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes in the Medical ICU with a focus on Open Heart Surgery and Neurosurgery pods.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, collect health data, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Educate patients and families tailored to their cultural background and learning needs, and connect them with community resources
• Collaborate with colleagues, contribute to professional development, and support clinical education
• Provide psychological support, assist with technical procedures, and participate in performance improvement and research activities
• Monitor wound, ostomy, and skin care treatments, and assist with patient transport as needed

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing (Bachelor's required within five years if Associate Degree held)
• Active Illinois RN license
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• One year of inpatient nursing experience

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Nursing
• Experience in ICU, ER, radiology, or wound/ostomy care
• Certifications such as CWON or CWCN are a plus
