RN - Critical Care - Nights

Role: Registered Nurse in the PCCU - Medical ICU, specializing in Open Heart Surgery and Neurosurgery pods. Responsibilities: Develops and evaluates care plans, assesses patient health data, communicates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams, and provides education tailored to individual needs. Provides psychological support, assists with technical procedures, participates in performance improvement and research activities, and ensures compliance with HIPAA. May conduct wound/ostomy/skin care rounds and assist with patient transport.Qualifications: Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; active Illinois RN license; ACLS and BLS certifications; at least 1 year of inpatient nursing experience. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, ICU or ER experience, wound/ostomy certification, and additional specialized skills.Skills: Strong clinical assessment, communication, patient education, teamwork, and technical skills. Ability to collaborate effectively and support professional development. Summary: The nurse provides safe, compassionate care by planning, implementing, and evaluating patient treatment.
