RN Coordinator | Adult Emergency Department | Full Time | Nights
About the Role
The RN Coordinator is a registered professional nurse who supports the Nurse Manager/Director and provides shift leadership for the overall operations of the Emergency Department on a 24/7 basis, including weekends, holidays, and evening/night shifts. Provides structure and support to unit staff and other healthcare professionals while ensuring provision of age-appropriate care for patients and families.
Demonstrates critical thinking skills, creativity, and knowledge to manage resources for quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines. Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and leading a professional and technical team in delivering services to the patient population. Ensures effective stewardship of resources through appropriate staff and resource utilization. Supports change activities in the unit and works to ensure implementation of changes. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all.
Assists with clinical coverage schedules and serves as a clinical expert for patient care and services in the unit by providing clinical leadership support and direct patient care if staffing requires. Works with the Nurse Manager/Director to provide staff development and performance evaluations, and collaborates with Nursing Coordinators to facilitate throughput. Represents the Nurse Manager/Director when needed.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of Florida.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; MSN preferred.
- National nursing certification required. Current staff without certification must obtain it as contracted by the VP/AVP.
- Minimum of 2 years in clinical specialty.
- Demonstrable autonomous and accountable nursing practice with strong patient care outcomes management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal relationship (IPR) skills.
- Demonstrable leadership in patient care and unit-based outcomes.
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to influence excellence in patient care.
