About the Role

PeaceHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Family Practice clinic in a Part Time, 0.60 FTE, Day position. A hiring bonus may be available.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs in the clinic/outpatient setting, including triaging patient phone calls, counseling, education, taking histories, administering medications, changing dressings, cleaning wounds, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
  • Ensure professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of established policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection prevention programs.
  • Demonstrate competence in making professional judgments pertaining to patient care.
  • Screen and prioritize patient telephone or walk-in inquiries regarding medical care, prescription refills, insurance authorizations, and referrals.
  • Evaluate and respond appropriately to urgent or emergency situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (required upon hire).
  • Basic Life Support certification (required upon hire).
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office applications.
  • Effective prioritization skills.
  • Ability to provide health education to patients, staff, and the community.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, JCAHO, DNV, and HCFA regulations pertaining to ambulatory care.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development to meet patient needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships in a patient/family-centered work environment.

One year of experience as a registered nurse is preferred.

Skills

  • Fine motor skills for grasping and controlling medical equipment and performing precise procedures.
  • Ability to lift and handle patients up to 35 lbs. without assistive equipment (NIOSH).
  • Push/pull frequently up to 45 lbs. of force (e.g., workstations on wheels, medical carts).
  • Perform hands-on CPR for at least 20 minutes using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA).
  • Frequent movement, including sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and kneeling.
  • Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to biohazards, body fluids, and airborne particles.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
  • Vision and hearing within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $46.27 – $69.41 per hour. The hiring rate depends on education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, and other factors.
