About the role

Assesses patients' conditions to determine appropriate venous access methods and addresses any complications. Develops and implements individualized care plans for patients requiring venous access and infusion therapy. Provides patient education on venous access and infusion therapy to ensure understanding and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors performance of nursing staff, provides feedback, conducts appraisals, and implements improvement plans to ensure clinical and professional standards are met.
  • Fosters professional growth by identifying training needs, organizing educational programs, and mentoring staff to enhance their skills and career progression.
  • Resolves conflicts among staff promptly and effectively using mediation techniques to maintain a positive work environment and ensure team cohesion.
  • Leads quality improvement initiatives by analyzing data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
  • Mentors and precepts new staff by providing hands-on training, feedback, and fostering professional development.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies to maintain high standards of patient services and safety.

Requirements

  • Ability to lead the employees of their unit in the delivery of patient care.
  • Ability to lead performance improvement initiatives on their assigned unit.
  • Ability to think critically in relation to the operations of the unit and delivery of patient care.
  • Able to assist and mentor others in relation to the technology utilized on the unit.
  • Able to apply clinical practice knowledge to the unit setting.
  • Able to influence relationships and behaviors in relation to meeting the needs of the unit.
  • Possesses a broad nursing knowledge, leadership ability, accepts responsibility, exercises authority, and functions independently.
  • Possesses insight for employee growth and development and the ability to do effective impartial counseling.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Able to manage the business of healthcare delivery on their unit, including assessing and managing financial practices/Productivity management.
  • Able to possess basic computer skills, including experience with an Electronic Health Record.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate's of Nursing [Required], Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred].
  • Field Of Study: N/A.
  • Work Experience: 1+ charge nurse or relevant leadership experience. [Preferred], 1+ nursing experience within the acute care setting [Preferred].
