Role Overview
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports clinical excellence by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care. They assist the Nurse Manager in maintaining safety, quality, and service standards, and may serve as a staff or relief charge nurse. The ANM leads unit operations, coordinates staff hiring, training, evaluation, and participates in budget planning. They ensure regulatory compliance, oversee clinical documentation, and facilitate unit-based education on quality measures. The role involves coaching staff, providing real-time feedback, and handling special projects.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing school with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Minimum of 3 years nursing experience
- Current RN license in Texas and CPR certification
- National certification in a specialty area or willingness to obtain within one year
- Strong coaching, mentoring, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Computer literacy and adaptability to new technologies
- Knowledge of hospital policies, nursing standards, and legal regulations
- Self-motivated, organized, team-oriented, and committed to quality, safety, and service
