Role Overview

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports clinical excellence, safety, and patient care by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. They assist the Nurse Manager in staffing, training, evaluation, and unit operations, while also serving as a relief charge nurse and/or staff nurse as needed. The ANM promotes a positive, collaborative environment and ensures compliance with hospital policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively, build team relationships, take accountability, and seek continuous improvement in patient experience.
  • Lead unit-based initiatives, coordinate staff hiring and training, contribute to budgeting, and oversee clinical quality and documentation.
  • Facilitate staff education and participate in special projects.
  • Coach and mentor staff, providing real-time feedback and role modeling.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing school; BSN required.
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience.
  • Current RN license and CPR certification.
  • National certification in specialty area or willingness to obtain within one year.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Computer literacy and adaptability to new technology.
  • Leadership, mentoring, and team-building abilities.
  • Knowledge of hospital policies, nursing standards, and legal regulations.
  • Passion for quality, safety, and patient service.
  • Flexibility, professionalism, and confidentiality awareness.
