About the role

Generation Citizen offers tools for the rising generation to build civic skills and make America the inclusive, multi-racial democracy that we need. We are transforming how civics is taught by providing equity-rooted, real-world civic education, which helps students understand exactly how governments function and how they can make a difference in the system. Through hands-on civic education, legislative advocacy and coalition building, and youth leadership development, we teach young people how to have a voice and become active citizens in their communities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Teacher Outreach for RISE VOTE 2026 initiative (25%)
    • Collaborate with GC’s regional Executive Directors to ensure teacher awareness and activation in the RISE VOTE 2026 initiative
    • Publicize RISE Vote 2026 opportunities to host voter registration drives with teacher-facing networks, listservs, newsletters, and audiences within public education, social studies, and civic learning communities
    • Ensure teacher recruitment and retention in summer 2026, fall 2026, and spring 2027 cycles of high-school voter registration events for the RISE Vote 2026 initiative
    • Drive the process of convening, designing, and executing RISE Vote 2026 teacher webinars
  • Partner with GC’s Chief Voice & Policy Officer to develop and refine teacher-facing messaging for campaign outreach
  • Own and drive our voter registration initiative
  • Lead educator outreach for the initiative
  • Help ensure the collaborative execution of high school voter registration drives across fifteen states: RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, OK, KY, CA, WA, MA, NC, AZ, MI, OH and TX

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in voter registration campaign experience, including designing, managing, and measuring the impact of voter registration initiatives
  • Minimum of 2 years in project management or event planning experience
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in youth civic engagement preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and an ability to authentically represent the communities we serve
