Essential Responsibilities
- Aid customers in selecting frames, fitting and dispensing frames.
- Utilize technical information to interpret prescriptions for frame and lens selection.
- Provide accurate product information about frames, lenses, and services to customers.
- Inform customers about benefits covered by Third Party insurance and any additional charges.
- Identify customer needs using the SERVE sales process and make appropriate lens recommendations.
- Use demonstration tools to assist in product selection and ensure accuracy of prescriptions.
- Analyze and interpret patients' prescriptions and communicate with the lab and optometrist for accuracy.
- Sell, fit, and dispense frames and accessories, ensuring correct measurements and adjustments.
- Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area.
- Ensure accuracy of customer pricing for retail customers.
- Maintain license requirements according to state guidelines.
- Provide feedback and guidance to apprentice opticians.
- Adhere to privacy and confidentiality policies.
- Participate in training and educational activities.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, workstations, and facility.
- Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current State Optician's Certificate.
- Demonstrated knowledge and abilities in optical products, services, prescription analysis, fitting, and dispensing.
Education & Experience
- Basic computer literacy.
- Strong communication skills.
- Outgoing, positive professional personality and appearance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible to support change and work onsite.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Stand, walk, use hands and fingers, talk, hear, and reach most of the time.
- Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
- Work in a moderate noise environment.

Pay & Benefits
Position provides competitive pay and benefits. Specific terms are set forth in the Company’s collective bargaining agreement with a minimum pay rate of $20 per hour plus incentive. Starting pay may vary based on experience to a maximum of $30 per hour. Incentive pay, wage upgrades, and overtime opportunities also available.
