Retail Licensed Optician

Essential Responsibilities

• Aid customers in frame selection, fitting, and dispensing frames.
• Utilize technical information to interpret prescriptions for customers.
• Provide accurate product information about frames, lenses, and services.
• Inform customers about benefits covered by third-party insurance.
• Identify customer needs and make proper lens recommendations.
• Use demonstration tools to assist in fitting and dispensing.
• Analyze and interpret patients' prescriptions.
• Communicate with the lab and optometrist for prescription accuracy.
• Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area.
• Ensure customer pricing accuracy.
• Adhere to privacy and confidentiality policies.
• Participate in training and educational activities.
• Complete additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Knowledge and ability to explain optical products and services.
• Ability to analyze and interpret optical prescriptions.
• Ability to fit and dispense frames and accessories.

Benefits

Position provides competitive pay and benefits. Specific terms are set forth in the Company's collective bargaining agreement with a minimum pay rate of $27 per hour plus incentive. Starting pay may vary based on experience to a maximum of $40.50 per hour. Incentive pay, wage upgrades, and overtime opportunities also available.
