Retail Licensed Optician
Essential Responsibilities
- Aid customers with frame selection, fitting, and dispensing frames.
- Utilize technical information to interpret prescriptions and assist customers with lens selections and services.
- Provide accurate product information to customers covered by third-party insurance and ensure proper selection of frames and lenses.
- Use the SERVE sales process to identify customer needs and make proper lens recommendations based on patient needs.
- Utilize demonstration tools to assist in product presentations.
- Analyze and interpret patients' prescriptions and communicate with the lab and optometrist for prescription accuracy.
- Sell, fit, and dispense frames and accessories, ensuring accuracy of measurements and product adjustments.
- Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area.
- Ensure customer pricing accuracy for retail customers.
- Maintain license requirements according to state guidelines.
- Provide feedback and guidance to apprentice opticians.
- Adhere to privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures.
- Participate in training and educational activities.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, workstations, and facility daily.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
- The noise level is moderate.

Compensation
The position provides competitive pay and benefits. Specific terms are set forth in the Company's collective bargaining agreement with a minimum pay rate of $24.50 per hour plus incentive. Starting pay may vary based on experience to a maximum of $36.75 per hour. Incentive pay, wage upgrades, and overtime opportunities also available.
