Summary
Aids customers in frame selection, fitting, and dispensing frames. Utilizes technical information to interpret prescriptions and assist customers with optical products and services.
Responsibilities
- Assist each customer in frame and lens selection, maintaining social distance requirements
- Ensure compliance with social distancing, cleaning protocols, and hygiene practices
- Provide accurate product information about frames, lenses, and services
- Inform customers about Third-Party insurance benefits and additional charges
- Utilize the SERVE sales process to identify customer needs and make lens recommendations
- Analyze and interpret patients' prescriptions, communicate with the lab and optometrist for accuracy
- Sell, fit, and dispense frames and accessories using accurate measurements and verification
- Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area
- Accurately price products for retail customers
- Maintain license requirements according to state guidelines
- Provide feedback and guidance to apprentice opticians
- Adhere to privacy and confidentiality policies
- Participate in training and educational activities
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, workstations, and facility daily
- Complete additional responsibilities as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing
- Demonstrated knowledge and abilities in optical products, prescriptions, fitting, and dispensing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Outgoing, positive professional personality and appearance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to support change and adapt to new situations
- Ability to work onsite and participate in interactive meetings

Benefits
Competitive pay and benefits, including a minimum starting pay rate of $27 per hour plus incentive. Additional opportunities for wage upgrades and overtime are available.
Pay
Starting pay may vary based on experience, with a maximum of $40.50 per hour.
