Essential Responsibilities
- Aid customers in selecting frames, fitting, and dispensing frames.
- Utilize technical information to interpret prescriptions for frame and lens selection.
- Provide accurate product information about frames, lenses, and other services to customers.
- Inform customers about benefits covered by third-party insurance and any additional charges.
- Use the SERVE sales process to identify customer needs and make proper lens recommendations.
- Analyze and interpret patients' prescriptions, communicate with the lab and optometrist for accuracy, and sell, fit, and dispense frames and accessories.
- Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area.
- Ensure accuracy of customer pricing for retail customers.
- Maintain license requirements according to state guidelines.
- Provide feedback and guidance to apprentice opticians.
- Adhere to privacy and confidentiality policies.
- Participate in training and educational activities.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, workstations, and the facility.
- Complete additional responsibilities as needed.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
- Demonstrated knowledge and abilities in optical products, prescriptions, fitting, and dispensing.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Stand, walk, use hands and fingers, talk, hear, and use close vision most of the time.
- Occasionally sit, reach, and lift up to 20 pounds.
- The noise level is moderate.

Union Position
- Compensation: Competitive pay and benefits, starting at $24.50 per hour with a maximum of $36.75 per hour, and potential for incentive pay, wage upgrades, and overtime.
