Summary

Aids customers in selecting, fitting, and dispensing frames. Utilizes technical information to interpret prescriptions and assist with optical products and services.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with frame and lens selection while maintaining social distancing protocols
• Ensure compliance with cleaning protocols and hygiene practices
• Provide accurate product information about frames, lenses, and services
• Communicate benefits of third-party insurance to customers
• Utilize SERVE sales process to identify customer needs and make lens recommendations
• Analyze and interpret prescriptions, communicate with lab and optometrist for accuracy
• Sell, fit, and dispense frames and accessories using accurate measurements and verification
• Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area
• Accurately price products for retail customers
• Maintain license requirements according to state guidelines
• Provide feedback and guidance to apprentice opticians
• Adhere to privacy and confidentiality policies
• Participate in training and educational activities
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, workstations, and facility daily
• Complete additional responsibilities as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing
• Demonstrated knowledge and abilities in optical products, prescriptions, fitting, and dispensing
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Outgoing and professional demeanor
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to support change and adapt to new situations
• Ability to work onsite and participate in interactive meetings

Pay

Starting pay may vary based on experience, with a minimum of $27 per hour and a maximum of $40.50 per hour.
