Retail Licensed Optician
Essential Responsibilities
- Aid customers in selecting frames, fitting, and dispensing frames.
- Utilize technical information to interpret prescriptions and assist customers with lens selections and services.
- Provide accurate product information to customers with third-party insurance and ensure proper selection of frames and lenses.
- Utilize the SERVE sales process to identify customer needs and make lens recommendations based on patient needs.
- Analyze and interpret patients' prescriptions, communicate with the lab and optometrist for prescription accuracy, and sell, fit, and dispense frames and accessories.
- Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area and ensure customer pricing accuracy.
- Adhere to privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures, including HIPAA.
- Participate in training and educational activities as needed.
- Maintain license requirements according to state guidelines.
- Provide feedback and guidance to apprentice opticians.
- Diligently maintain cleanliness of equipment, workstations, and the facility.
- Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
Knowledge and demonstrated abilities in explaining optical products, services, analyzing and interpreting optical prescriptions, fitting and dispensing.
Strong communication skills and the desire to work with the public.
Outgoing, positive professional personality and appearance.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to interact well with doctors and other associates.
Flexibility to support change.
Ability to work onsite and participate in interactive onsite meetings.
Ability to initiate immediate interaction, coordination, and collaboration with team members, clients, and customers.
Pay
Pay Class: Part Time
Pay: $27 - $40.50 per hour
