Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day and long-term success of retail staff with a focus on customer experience.
- Recruit, onboard, develop, schedule, coach, and manage performance for retail team members.
- Lead Retail Sales Associates (Outfitters) to ensure each customer is outfitted with everything they need.
- Spend 5 days a week on the sales floor, fostering a positive staff culture centered on performance management and education.
- Balance administrative tasks, customer interactions, and a fast-paced environment while staying organized.
- Provide professional and timely internal and external communication.
- Develop and train staff through recognition, coaching, and development opportunities.
- Promote individual and team performance by setting expectations, delegating, and providing tools and resources.
- Assist with business decisions, always prioritizing staff and customers.
- Build and maintain trust with staff and customers through sound judgment.
- Support all Fleet Feet initiatives, activities, and functions.
Requirements
- Available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- At least 2-3 years of retail experience in a customer-facing sales setting.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with a proven track record of leading teams by example.
- Experience in providing feedback, coaching in the moment, and handling hard conversations (performance, disciplinary, etc.).
- Passion for coaching, developing, and motivating employees.
- Ability to balance the needs of employees and the business.
- Strong organizational skills to manage administrative tasks and customer interactions in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional communication skills for both internal and external interactions.
- Proven track record of developing and training staff.
- Passionate, positive, self-motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative, and customer-centric.
- Willingness to go above and beyond when needed.
