Retail Experience Manager

Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day and long-term success of retail staff with a focus on customer experience and store sales.
- Onboard, develop, schedule, coach, and manage performance and education for retail team members.
- Lead Retail Sales Associates (Outfitters) to ensure each customer is outfitted with everything they need to get started or keep going.
- Maintain the highest sales metrics in the store and meet sales goals set by leadership.
- Coach team members on individual sales metrics, setting expectations, delegating, and providing tools and resources.
- Foster growth through recognition, coaching, and development opportunities.
- Handle hard conversations (performance, disciplinary, etc.) professionally.
- Manage administrative tasks, customer interactions, and a fast-paced environment while staying organized.
- Build and maintain trust with staff and customers through sound business decisions.
- Support all Fleet Feet initiatives, activities, and functions.
- Be present on the sales floor 5 days a week.
Requirements
- Available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- At least 2-3 years of retail experience in a customer-facing sales setting.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with a proven track record of leading by example.
- Ability to provide feedback and coach in the moment.
- Passionate, positive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
- Collaborative and customer-centric mindset.
- Willing to go above and beyond when needed.
Position requires moving around for periods of 2-4 hours without a rest break, task sequencing, and using point-of-sale computers. Occasional moderate to heavy (10-25+ lb) lifting and carrying, bending, and reaching overhead may be required. Work environment includes substantial communication with customers, product displays, stockroom inventory, and potentially slippery surfaces.
