Steptoe LLP is seeking an associate to join its Insolvency & Restructuring practice in the New York office. The ideal candidate will have experience representing debtors, ad hoc and statutory committees, secured creditors, asset purchasers, and other constituents in Chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court restructurings, including cross-border matters.
Responsibilities
- Handle matters related to Chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court restructurings, including cross-border cases.
- Represent clients such as debtors, ad hoc and statutory committees, secured creditors, and asset purchasers.
- Prepare for depositions and trials (experience in this area is a plus).
- Collaborate with attorneys across the firm on various projects.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York Bar, active and in good standing.
- 2–4 years of restructuring experience.
- Demonstrated record of academic and professional excellence.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional research, analytical, and writing abilities.

Pay
Expected salary for this position is $235,000 - $310,000, depending on experience.
