Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations, financial success, team development, customer/donor relations, and overall store management
- Achieve financial objectives by monitoring daily sales against budget, controlling inventory, reviewing store P&L/GL monthly, managing expenses, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
- Control and monitor purchased inventory through weekly cycle counts and monthly inventories
- Develop and research plans for continued store growth
- Ensure store compliance with operational and safety policies and procedures
- Daily management of ReStore staff, including basic HR functions such as interviewing, hiring, counseling, training, development, and termination
- Maintain legal and safety requirements of the store
- Provide an exceptional level of both internal and external customer service
- Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude when interacting with employees, customers, donors, volunteers, HIPs (Homeowners in Progress) and Community Service Workers
- Ensure an exceptional meaningful volunteer, customer, donor, HIP and Community Service Worker experience
- Work effectively as a team member with staff and volunteers, ensuring engagement and motivation of others
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for employees, volunteers and customers
- Represent Habitat in a positive, professional manner
- Interact and collaborate with other departments (IT, HR, Volunteer Services, Accounting, etc.)
- Read, count, and accurately complete reports and all end-of-day documentation
- Maintain regular and reliable job attendance and adhere to schedule
- Maintain a presentable appearance, including ReStore-appropriate attire
- Adhere to Habitat’s Code of Conduct policies and other policies
- Hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable by Habitat’s insurance provider
- Have a personal and reliable vehicle available for occasional business use
- Perform other Habitat Charlotte Region-related tasks as requested by supervisor
Qualifications
- Experience with MS Office programs
- Basic math and POS experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Budget and expense tracking experience
- Management and customer service experience (5+ years of management required)
- Strong leadership skills
- Basic HR skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Show initiative
- Ability to support Habitat’s Mission, Vision and Core Values
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to move merchandise throughout the store
- Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted, 70 lbs. with assistance
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, Saturdays, and holidays
- Ability to obtain Forklift Certification and operate a forklift on a regular basis
- Ability to climb steps to forklift cab
Level of Authority
- Demonstrate leadership to team members and volunteers
- Operate under minimal supervision
- Report directly to the VP of Retail Operations
