Respiratory Care Shift Coordinator FT Days
About the Role
Serves as a clinical and operational leader, providing expert respiratory care and mentoring staff in advanced skills. Plans shift assignments, manages workflow, and ensures staffing levels using EMR reports. Acts as a shift leader, oversees patient safety, and facilitates effective handoffs between shifts. Contributes to performance improvement initiatives and maintains documentation of staff training and technology use. Assists with staff orientation, technical competency, and ensures compliance with safety and clinical protocols. Performs duties of a Registered Respiratory Therapist and escalates safety or clinical issues when needed.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor's preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of RT experience, including 1 year in critical care.
- Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, RRT registration, and BLS certification required.
- Knowledge of respiratory practices, patient rights, and regulatory standards.
- Proficient in critical care procedures, data assessment, and population-specific care.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Maintains necessary certifications such as NRP, PALS, ACLS, and specialty credentials as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership in AARC.
Schedule
Work is primarily during daytime shifts in a hospital setting, with a focus on patient safety and quality care.
