Respiratory Care Shift Coordinator FT Days

About the Role

Provides clinical and operational leadership as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, serving as a role model and resource for staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert respiratory care in clinical settings and mentor staff in advanced skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Plan shift assignments and manage workflow using EMR reports, ensuring appropriate staffing levels.
• Coordinate patient care handoffs, escalate safety concerns, and participate in safety event reporting and improvement initiatives.
• Assist with staff orientation, training, and competency assessments.
• Advocate for patient therapy and ensure compliance with safety and clinical standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy; Bachelor's preferred.
• At least 3 years of RT experience, including 1 year in critical care.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and registered (RRT).
• Certifications: BLS, NBRC credentials, and other relevant advanced certifications.

Skills

• Knowledge of respiratory therapy practices, patient safety, regulatory standards, and critical care procedures.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, equipment use, and population-specific care.
