Qualifications
- Associate degree in Human Services or equivalent required.
- Two years' experience in case management or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which would provide the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Ability to work independently within established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish in verbal and written form.
- Proficient in the usage of computer software; demonstrate an understanding of computer file systems and computer software packages, e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Teams, ADP, etc.
- Must be honest, dependable and able to meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Physical exam, drug screen, motor vehicle reports and background checks are required for this position.
- A valid Wisconsin Driver’s License or occupational driver’s license; reliable transportation and insurance is required.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide quality, efficient, interactive intake services for CSBG by phone, face-to-face or by mail to determine program eligibility using 125% FPL standards.
- Answer high volume calls and in-person traffic, schedule appointments, and provide programming information within a timely manner.
- Follow up with clients, partners, and maintain accurate, confidential client files for FPL cases.
- Provide quick, proactive response to prevent disconnections, adhering to respond within 48hrs of request per (UMOS, CSBG grantee) crisis policy.
- Verify documentation required for earned and unearned income, including wages, child support, TANF, Social Security, Unemployment Insurance, etc. to make appropriate referrals to partner programs for CSBG.
- Enter program applications, verification and benefits processing into the CSBG electronic data system within 2 business days following service delivery.
- Conduct community outreach and provide mobile intake services to community agencies, senior centers, housing/neighborhood centers, etc.
- Use a variety of office equipment, such as telephones, fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, computers, video conferencing, etc.
- Participate in assigned meetings, events and learning as required.
- Other duties as assigned, including serving in a coverage role for other department members.
