Resource Navigator -CSBG Program
About the Role
UMOS is seeking a motivated, results-oriented Resource Navigator to join its diverse team of over 1,000 professionals across more than 60 offices in seven states. This role supports mission-driven initiatives, including early childhood development, career planning, farmworker assistance, HIV prevention education, and support for individuals fleeing domestic violence or human trafficking.
Earn up to $3,000 in incentive pay during your first year of employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide efficient, interactive intake services for the CSBG program by phone, face-to-face, or mail to determine eligibility using 125% FPL standards.
- Enter program applications into the CSBG electronic data system in a timely manner.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and provide program information to clients.
- Respond proactively to prevent service disconnections, adhering to a 48-hour response policy for crisis requests.
- Coordinate and perform administrative tasks, including storing, retrieving, and disseminating information for staff and clients.
- Operate office equipment such as fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, iPads, computers, and video conferencing systems.
- Verify earned and unearned income, including wages, child support, TANF, Social Security, and Unemployment Insurance.
- Conduct community outreach and mobile intake services at agencies, senior centers, housing/neighborhood centers, etc.
- Perform home visits for elderly, handicapped, or other clients as necessary.
- Respond to applicant questions, assist with verification, and process benefits in a timely manner.
- Make referrals to partner programs for CSBG clients.
- Collaborate as a team member to ensure the efficient operation of the CSBG program.
- Participate in program awareness events throughout the community.
- Provide intake services for FPL (Federal Poverty Level) cases and maintain accurate, confidential client files.
- Track disbursements and communicate with landlords/vendors.
- Attend partnership meetings, health fairs, and other community events.
- Perform special projects and other related duties as needed.
Requirements
- Associate degree and/or at least two years of experience with the CSBG or other community service programs.
- Two years of experience in case management or equivalent training/experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software systems.
- Ability to work independently within established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
- Reliable vehicle, valid Wisconsin driver’s license, and adequate auto liability insurance.
- Ability to work flexible/irregular hours, including on-call evenings, and travel as needed.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and bend.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
- Frequently exposed to moderate temperatures in controlled and uncontrolled environments.
- Noise level typically quiet to moderate.
Tools and equipment used include phone systems, iPads, iPhones, laptop computers, projectors, copy/scanner machines, fax machines, various computer software, first aid equipment, and fire extinguishers.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and driver’s license verification.
Pay
$18.22 to $22.78 per hour, depending on experience.
