About the role
The Residential Services Supervisor provides assistance and direction to Cottage Parents in various areas including therapeutic discipline, working with children and families, securing supplies, and managing cottage activities.
Responsibilities
- Leadership in creating and implementing programs on campus that support the agency's mission.
- Responsible for educating, training, and monitoring the work of cottage parents.
- Ensures that agency policies, procedures, and programs are delivered appropriately.
- Makes decisions regarding cottage needs, approves equipment and supplies, and manages budgets.
- Schedules cottage activities and oversees attendance and time sheets.
- Works with staff in scheduling and maintaining agency vehicles and supports wellness programs.
- Monitors health requirements of cottage parents and works flexible hours to meet campus needs.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years experience in residential care or 3-5 years managing 5+ employees.
- Working knowledge of current trends in residential care.
- Capacity to build and maintain relationships with cottage parent teams and agency teams.
- Valid driver license and safe driving record.

Job Specific
- Makes assistance and direction to cottage parents in routine cottage matters.
- Assists in the training of new cottage parents for at least the first three months of employment.
- Makes assistance to Director of Support Services in structuring and implementing the student work program.
- Coordinates cottage parents' work schedules and ensures adequate staff coverage in cottages.
- Supports cottage staff during times when cottages are understaffed.
- Insures cottages are staffed and fills in during emergencies.
- Works a flexible schedule to facilitate campus needs in consultation with Regional Director.
Equipment
- Ability to operate standard office machines such as copier, computer, fax, calculator, etc.
- Ability to work within Microsoft, Therascribe, Outlook, Excel, and Word software programs.
- Maintains adequate equipment and supplies for the assigned department to function.
Languages
- Ability to read, write, and complete necessary documentation.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, resources, and the general public.
Contact With Others
- Regular contact with colleagues in all departments, as well as with outside individuals and groups.
- Contacts outside of the agency where proper handling of situations is of utmost importance as the agency's image could be affected.
