Residential Services Supervisor

About the role

The Residential Services Supervisor gives assistance and direction to Cottage Parents in the areas of therapeutic discipline; working with children and families; securing food, clothing, supplies and equipment; campus, church, school, and community activities; regular cottage maintenance and management.

Ensuring that the agency's policies, procedures and programs are delivered appropriately is an integral part of this position.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years experience in residential care or 3-5 years experience managing 5 or more employees
  • Working knowledge of current trends in the field of residential care
  • Capacity to build and maintain relationships with Cottage Parent teams and the larger agency teams
  • Valid driver license and safe driving record

  • Works under the direct supervision of the Residential and Campus Manager
  • Prepares for and participates in regularly scheduled supervisory conferences
  • Carrries out responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
  • Keeps supervisor informed regarding current status of campus life

Equipment

  • Ability to operate standard office machines such as copier, computer, fax, calculator, etc.
  • Ability to work within Microsoft, Therascribe, Outlook, Excel and Word software programs
  • Maintains adequate equipment and supplies for the assigned department to function

Languages

  • Ability to read, write and complete necessary documentation
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, resources and the general public

Contact with others

  • Regular contact with colleagues in all departments, as well as with outside individuals and groups
  • Contacts outside of the agency where proper handling of situations is of utmost importance as the agency's image could be affected

  • Interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Able to draw conclusions

  • Complies with agency policies and procedures concerning confidentiality and HIPAA regulations involving all aspects of client information

Job Specific

  • Makes sure cottage activities are running smoothly and gives assistance and direction to cottage parents
  • Assists in the training of new cottage parents for at least the first three months of employment
  • Monitors health requirements of cottage parents such as routine physical exams, TB tests, Hepatitis B vaccines
