About the role

FACETS is a non-profit organization that helps parents, their children, and individuals affected by poverty in Fairfax County. We provide wrap-around services and community partnerships to meet immediate needs and help individuals and families achieve stable housing.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct supervision, coaching, and training to Residential Support Staff to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Builds respectful and supportive relationships with clients and staff to promote health, wellness, and stability.
  • Maintains accurate documentation including incident reports, shift logs, room and facility checks.
  • Facilitates life skills activities, groups, and community engagement.
  • Handles escalated concerns, ensuring timely and appropriate response and resolution.
  • Creates and maintains consistent communication channels with key stakeholders including RSS, Case Managers, the Shelter Facilities Manager, Operations Team, and Community Partners.
  • Assists RSS and Case Managers to develop and monitor residents' individual service plans to support progress toward housing stability and personal goals.
  • Attends team meetings, training, and case conferences.
  • Conducts routine unit checks, fire drills, and safety inspections.
  • Represents FACETS in the community, adhering to the agency's mission, vision, and code of ethics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of current social services, homelessness, and housing issues and methods/approaches to address issues.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a high-performing team.
  • Knowledge or understanding of tenants’ rights and responsibilities as well as "strengths-based" case management.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Candidate must be able to lift items weighing 10-20 pounds.
  • Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, good driving record, and personal car insurance.
  • Candidates will be required to pass criminal background and Child Protective Services background checks.
  • CPR Certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to attend occasional meetings at other FACETS office locations within Fairfax County, including 3 annual organization-wide fundraising events each year.

Schedule

Flexible schedule to accommodate 24-hour operations.

Pay

$22-$25 per hour. FACETS offers a competitive salary commensurate with qualification/experience.
