Facilities Assistant - Weekend Shift

About the role

Join our distribution Facilities team to assist in maintaining operational readiness and implementing facility-related improvements at our Southaven, MS location (Memphis Distribution Center). This is a weekend shift position (5:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Saturday/Sunday only).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary lift battery attendant on 1st shift to ensure all lifts have batteries changed safely and expediently.
• Operate a floor sweeper and scrubber daily.
• Replenish water bottles and cups daily; replace water dispensers as needed.
• Remove and replace damaged racks.
• Handle pallet recycling daily.
• Put away supplies from suppliers (e.g., cardboard, labels).
• Keep supply racks organized and clean.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks and assemble furniture.
• Evaluate machine issues, conveyors, and report to the facilities coordinator in a timely manner.
• Handle minor plumbing and cleaning tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness in front office and parking lots as needed.
• Conduct monthly inspections on ladders.
• Inspect racks and eyewash stations for serviceability weekly.

Requirements

• Certification on order picker and counterbalance lifts.
• Ability to work with common hand tools.
• Ability to lift at least 40 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to change forklift batteries in a timely manner.
• Must possess a positive attitude, work well with others inside and outside the department, and have good oral communication skills.
• Must be a self-motivated, independent worker who can take limited direction while making good decisions in the workplace.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to solve basic math problems and use a ruler.
• Preferred experience of working independently for 2 years.

Pay

$18.50 per hour.
