About the role

This entry-level residential re-entry position in social services monitors the custody, security, control, and maintenance of the facility and residents.

$22.84 per hour

Schedule

This is a relief position requiring 20-25 hours per week, with variable shifts based on the center's needs:

  • 1st Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM
  • Weekends and holidays (including those falling on weekends)
  • Variable shifts as needed

In the event of a work stoppage, you may be required to work additional hours to staff the center and accept reassigned shifts without advanced notice. Attendance at all required meetings or appointments, some of which may be off-site, is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors Residents – Observes, documents, and ensures the accountability of all residents while enforcing rules, responsibilities, and restrictions. Controls and documents transactions related to money, subsistence, medications, first-aid supplies, mail, visitors, accountability checks, and telephone calls.
  • Assists with Managing Program Services – Supports Counselors with resident programming, including installing electronic monitoring equipment, visiting residents in their homes or places of employment, and conducting alcohol and urine surveillance testing.
  • Monitors Facility – Conducts and documents scheduled internal and external inspections to maintain resident health, safety, and accountability. Ensures physical plant safety and sanitation standards are upheld.
  • Maintains Working Knowledge and Follows Procedures – Adheres to guidelines outlined in the Statement of Work, Physical Plant, and Operations Manuals. Demonstrates proficiency in emergency drills, life safety, facility sanitation, escapes, and unusual occurrence procedures.
  • Sanitation – Performs general housekeeping duties, including dusting, polishing, vacuuming, and emptying trash.
  • Other Duties – Additional tasks may be assigned by the Director. Note that Federal or State Contracting Authority and Executive Management reserve the right to modify operating standards, staffing requirements, or qualifications, which may impact continued employment in this role.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and groups in both routine and emergency situations
  • One year of paid work experience
