About the role
The Lead, Renewable Power Market (US) will be responsible for establishing and building client relationships, finding and developing business opportunities, and being the face of BBA Consultants' brand in new regions. This role supports the Director of the Wind & Solar business line to develop and implement broader strategy for all regions.
Responsibilities
- Establish, strengthen and grow client relationships
- Define and implement strategy for growth in new regions
- Foster strong internal relationships and engagement with BBA Consultants’ staff in the US (as well as Canada and globally)
- Identify, develop and oversee of any new services, skillsets and tools
- Specific strategic project oversight
- Advise our clients
- Mentor our technical staff
Requirements
- Engineering degree (civil, structural, geotechnical or electrical discipline preferred), with a Professional Engineering registration in one or more jurisdictions in the United States
- Minimum 15 years experience in the electric power sector with at least 5 years in renewable energy (wind/solar/battery energy storage), with broad sector knowledge
- Strong knowledge of renewable energy (wind, solar, BESS) technologies and OEMs
- Strong communications, interpersonal, relationship building skills
- Extremely versatile and broad – thrives on a wide variety of tasks and challenges
- Strong and demonstrated critical thinking skills
Qualifications
- Able to travel to domestically within the United States and international destinations (such as Canada, Peru and Chile)
- Fluent in English
- Project Management proficiency
- Design/Construction/Commissioning supervision and/or coordination experience
- Knowledge of permitting, interconnections and project development
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation in multiple US States
- Fluency in French and/or Spanish language
Skills
- Business development and Strategic Planning
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and key stakeholders in the renewable energy and electricity sector in the United States (and globally)
- Work closely with the VP International to orient and support local growth strategies
- Identify, develop and pursue opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement
- Positioning for upcoming opportunities, lead and/or support proposals and implement pursuit/capture strategies
- Cross-sell the services of other divisions within other business lines and other regions where there is a value-add
- Develop and implement a medium- and long-term pipeline forecast
- Act as Client Account Manager, Project Director and/or technical mentor to BBA Consultants’ staff for select strategic projects and with specific clients
- Oversee internal teams for delivery and day-to-day execution of renewables projects
- Directly work with BBA’s operational teams across the United States (as well as Canada and globally) to ensure alignment between market opportunities, services in demand and map to a growth target and resourcing forecast
- Conduct technical reviews and oversee engineering and design activities within area(s) of expertise

Pay
At BBA, the annual base salary is determined based on location, market, education, relevant and demonstrated work experience, technical assessment, qualifications, certifications, and other relevant skills.
