About the role

We are seeking a volunteer Parent and Caregiver Engagement Specialist to help us engage and support families of underserved youth and young people. This role involves developing outreach strategies, creating resources, and facilitating listening sessions to better understand and address the needs of these families.

Responsibilities

• Develop parent and caregiver engagement goals, messages, resources, and calendars
• Research common questions, barriers, communication preferences, and support needs
• Coordinate virtual listening sessions, information sessions, surveys, and follow-ups
• Create accessible, multilingual-ready family guides and communications
• Connect feedback with relevant teams and track participation for improvement
• Avoid making eligibility, funding, legal, medical, or counseling determinations

Qualifications

• Experience in family engagement, education, youth programs, community outreach, social services, communications, or parent leadership
• Strong listening, facilitation, writing, empathy, and organizational skills
• Culturally responsive and respectful communication with diverse families
• Willingness to complete necessary training
• Multilingual or accessibility experience is helpful
