Remote Volunteer API Solutions Architect — Education Technology
Responsibilities
- Design REST, GraphQL, webhook, or event-driven integration patterns appropriate to program needs.
- Define API contracts, authentication, authorization, versioning, validation, error handling, logging, and rate limits.
- Review data flows for privacy, security, reliability, accessibility, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with product, application, infrastructure, security, data, and technical-support volunteers.
- Document architecture decisions, interfaces, dependencies, test strategies, and operational guidance.
- Recommend cost-conscious tools and incremental improvements suitable for a nonprofit volunteer team.
Requirements
- API architecture, backend engineering, systems integration, cloud services, identity, security, data modeling, or DevOps experience.
- Experience explaining technical tradeoffs and producing clear documentation.
Qualifications
