About the Opportunity

The Remote Customer Service Representative (CSR 1) role is designed to support federal student aid borrowers by addressing routine loan servicing inquiries via phone, email, or chat. This position contributes directly to borrower support efficiency and satisfaction by providing timely and accurate information. It is a work-from-home role that plays a vital part in the debt management and collections system, helping the program maintain effective borrower communication and assistance.

Responsibilities

• Respond to borrower inquiries regarding federal student loan servicing through various communication channels
• Provide accurate information and assistance with routine loan servicing questions
• Use internal resources, guides, and training materials to resolve borrower issues
• Take detailed notes and refer to them during service interactions
• Follow established policies to protect personally identifiable information
• Collaborate with team members and accept ongoing feedback
• Work scheduled holidays, overtime, and Saturdays as required

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Minimum 6 months of customer service, administrative, or call center experience
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
• Basic math and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Typing speed of at least 23 words per minute
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Logical thinking and attention to detail
• Ability to ask for guidance when needed
• Comfortable working independently and in teams
• Must reside in the U.S. and be a U.S. Citizen
• Able to pass a criminal background check
• No delinquency or default on federal student loans
• Able to maintain a private and secure home workspace
• Reliable internet connection meeting specified speed requirements

Pay Range and Compensation Package

Starting pay: $15.50 per hour plus $5.09 per hour Health & Welfare benefits
Compensation package includes paid federal holidays, paid time off, and other employer-provided benefits
