Job Summary and Qualifications
The Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the IP and OP therapies departments under the direction of the Director of Therapies. Responsibilities include staffing, orientation, training and educational in-services for employees; monitoring critical department-specific regulatory requirements and maintaining the safety management programs for both departments to promote and deliver optimal patient care. Manages Rehab program and regulatory functions. Interacts with senior management and the medical staff as required to keep all adequately informed and educated on quality issues. Accountable for accreditation surveys, preparing and educating staff and physicians of their survey responsibilities. The Manager will collaborate with senior management, medical staff, and department leaders to create a climate and structure that encourages staff to set and achieve goals in providing quality and cost-effective services to both internal and external customers. Collaborates in decision-making structures and processes. Knowledgeable of healthcare trends and integrates into strategic planning for departments. Accountable for the implementation of an effective and continuous program to measure, assess and improve performance. Assures a high level of customer satisfaction. Manages productivity to achieve budgetary targets. When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Must have an understanding of the organization’s mission, strategic plans and financial goals to evaluate, create and develop new programs that support the mission and strategic plans of the organization and the respective departments including but not limited to Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Services. The manager will also perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein including patient care duties as directed.
