Registration Associate – St. Peter's Hospital - Full Time – Rotating Shift

About the Role

Representative I – Patient Access provides patient‑focused customer service, handling outpatient and/or inpatient registration, insurance verification, collection of patient financial liability payments, and delivering general information to hospital users, patients, families, and physician offices.

Schedule

Full‑time, rotating shift. Two‑week training period required. Regular hours Monday‑Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with holiday and/or weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Research, collect, and analyze information; identify opportunities, develop solutions, and lead resolution.
• Collaborate on performance‑improvement activities related to program efficiency and patient experience.
• Distribute analytical reports.
• Utilize multiple system applications to perform analysis, create reports, and develop educational materials.
• Maintain knowledge of departmental processes, policies, and procedures; acquire new knowledge as needed.
• Research and compile information to support ad‑hoc operational projects and initiatives.
• Synthesize and analyze data, provide detailed summaries with graphical presentations, and recommend practical options or solutions.
• Leverage program and operational data to define progress, ROI, and impacts.
• Maintain working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, and related policies to ensure ethical and safe work practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Minimum one (1) year of customer service experience (required).
• Patient Access experience preferred.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA certification required within one (1) year of hire.
• Medical terminology knowledge (nice to have).
• Knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding (nice to have).
• Insurance verification experience with ability to explain benefits and secure necessary authorizations (nice to have).

Pay

Hourly rate range: $17.25 – $22.54, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act will be paid at the equivalent base salary. Pay may vary within the range based on location.
