Registered Respiratory Therapist - PRN Nights

About the role

Provides direct respiratory care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, within hospital and departmental guidelines. Applies advanced clinical expertise independently, serving as a resource to the healthcare team, and ensures patient safety through effective, developmentally appropriate care that complies with quality and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively with team members, documenting and participating in patient handoffs.
• Provides education and training on respiratory treatments to patients, families, and staff, utilizing diverse learning styles.
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, applying clinical knowledge to assess, troubleshoot, and analyze patient needs.
• Demonstrates advanced skills supporting specialized procedures such as ECMO, mechanical ventilation, bronchoscopies, and sleep studies.
• Maintains accountability, seeks continuous learning, and manages multiple duties efficiently.
• Collaborates with healthcare team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care.
• Engages in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Licenses & Certifications: Respiratory Care Practitioner, RRT, BLS, Basic Cardiovascular Life Support.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in related field.
• No prior experience required; demonstrates ability to perform advanced clinical procedures.
