Registered Respiratory Therapist - PRN Nights

Role Overview

Provides direct patient respiratory care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within hospital and department guidelines. Independently applies advanced clinical expertise and scientific knowledge, serving as a resource to the healthcare team while ensuring patient safety through developmentally appropriate care that complies with quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively through documentation, handoffs, and collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Educates patients, families, students, and staff on respiratory treatments and procedures, utilizing diverse learning styles.
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures per established protocols, troubleshooting as needed.
• Supports advanced clinical responsibilities such as ECMO, mechanical ventilation, bronchoscopies, sleep studies, and BLS.
• Continuously seeks learning opportunities, prioritizes duties, and manages time effectively.

Qualifications & Skills

• Associate degree or higher from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) and Basic Cardiovascular Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
• Ability to work independently with strong clinical, communication, and critical thinking skills.
